Sealing, insulation and protection for HVAC systems Thanks to its robust properties and its ability to withstand high temperatures, vibrations and environmental restrictions, silicone rubber is the perfect solution for commercial or domestic heating and air conditioning systems. Silicone or duct sealant is fine. But both need to be protected, coated, supported and sealed with aluminum foil tape, the real adhesive tape. However, first of all, the joints of the ducts (supplies and returns) must be solidified, since they cannot come off or slip or deflect in no direction.

Just insert short self-tapping screws (those with a sharp tip, not those on the drill head) into the 2 parts of the joint to fix everything together.
